Larry Vickers, a former coach at HBCU Norfolk State, was hired as the new women’s basketball coach at Auburn University, making him the only HBCU coach to successfully leave to a Power 4 school.
Charlene Thomas-Swinson has been a coach since the 1980s, having worked at three different schools and two WNBA teams, and is currently an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Aces.
