The 19th Annual Inner City All Star Classic had its highlights on Father’s Day at Washington Technology Magnet in St. Paul. The game featured some ofthe metro area’s top graduating seniors of color, who were invited to participate based on their outstanding play during the basketball season last winter.
In the girls’ game KIONDA NICKS (St. Paul Highland Park) earned MVP honors,scoring 13 points in leading Team Truth to a 54-47 win over Team Faith, who got 12 from three-point shooting champ OLIVIA ANTILLA (Osseo).
MARCUS MARSHALL (St. Paul Johnson), who earned MVP honors and won the three-point contest, scored 15 points. TIM GILL
(Minneapolis Henry) added 13, and TAYLOR STAFFORD (Duluth East) added 10 to lead Team Wisdom to a 76-70 victory over Team Knowledge despite 16 points from slam dunk champion JERRY PRATT (Minneapolis Washburn), 14 from DARRION SCOTT (Fair), and 10 from Mr. Basketball winner SIYANI CHAMBERS (Hopkins).
