enry Linwood Fisher was born to the union of William Fisher and Emma Hardiman Fisher on November 9, 1943 in Grenada, MS. He departed this earthly life on May 16, 2012 at Fairview Hospital in Edina, MN.
He was united in marriage to Bobbie Collins Fisher for 17 years, and to this union two children were born, Katrena and Lisa. He then had a third daughter, Sonja Page (mother, Mary Emma Page).
Henry accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Powell Chapel AME, current pastor, Reverend Moses Simms, Jr., Grenada, MS. He attended Grace Temple Deliverance Center, Minneapolis, MN, under Pastor Dr. Willa Grant Battle.
Henry attended Carrie Dotson High School in Grenada, MS. He retired in 2006 as a machinist from the Toro Company after 18 years of service. Previous employers include J.H. Oliver Trucking Company, McQuay International and Onan Corporation.
Henry was a member of the Jolly Boys Club and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He offered a helping hand to many in his neighborhood and assisted them with transportation needs and yard maintenance. Henry was a dedicated team member of Loaves and Fishes, an organization in St. Paul, MN that serves meals to those in need. Because of these acts of kindness and service to others, he was named “Missionary Henry” by Dr. Willa Grant Battle.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, William Fisher and Emma Hardiman Fisher; sister, Hattie Mae Jones; and brother-in-law, Joe Willie Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory Elsie Moss, loving companion of 28 years; three daughters, Katrena Fisher and Lisa Johnson of Grenada, MS, and Sonja Page of Coffeeville, MS; four bonus children: daughters Juanita Moss of St. Paul, MN, Charlitta Moss of Minneapolis, MN, Nicole Moss of Lithonia, GA, and son Pervis Moss of Lithonia, GA; two special sons: Bernard Jefferson of Grenada, MS and Paul Fox (Quintin) of Clarkston, GA; brother Walter Fisher (Betty) of St. Louis, MO; aunt Leola Fisher of Toledo, OH; cousins Walter and Patty Halliday of Saginaw, MI; 13 grandchildren: Sierra Moss, Bryce McNeal, Jasmine Porter, Melvin Johnson, Jr., Christopher Mitchell-Moss, Paige Vaughn, Stevon Moss, Robert Brown, Shardae Moss, Sheldon Moss, Jalen Davis, Courtney Grigsby, and Jibron Cook; one great granddaughter, Najah Rogers; and a host of other relatives, friends and church family.
