Grace Jacoway was born on June 1, 1929 in Winona, Mississippi. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1949 and was a resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1950, where she married Freddie L. Jacoway.

She was a member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ and later joined Speak the Word Church in Golden Valley. A devout church member, Grace was especially known for the great meals she prepared for church fundraisers and other events.

For over 40 years, Grace’s life was committed to the serving of people with disabilities and others with special needs, including working as a certified nursing assistant and providing adult foster care services for Hennepin County. In her precious leisure time, you could find Grace on any one of the 10,000 lakes in Minnesota with her cap on, fishing pole and bait in hand.

Family members who preceded her in death are her parents, John Lewis and Rosa Lee Doyle; sister, Clemie Lee “Tee-Tee” Doyle; and brothers, John E. Doyle and Loran C. Doyle.

Grace’s sister, Bettie Jane Doyle; six children, Billy, Cynthia, Patricia, Randy, Debra and Annette; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews and nieces remain to cherish her memory.

Service were be held at Church of the Master’s Love, 240 Morgan Avenue North, Minneapolis, at 11 am on Saturday, April 28, followed by a repast from 1-3 pm. Memorials can be sent to 4816 Oakland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
