Hopkins, DeLaSalle and Maranatha Christian repeated as state champions at the girls’ basketball finals held at the Target Center last Saturday.
Hopkins, led by SYNDEY COFFEY, NIA COFFEY, TAYLOR ANDERSON, TT STARKS, VIRA LIVINGSTON, GRACIA HUTSON and ERIN O’TOOLE, defeated Osseo 77-55 to capture its second consecutive Class 4A crown.
Osseo got outstanding play from PHILLIS WEBB, OLIVIA ANTILLA, MIKAYLA BAILEY, JANAY MORTON, JILL VIEAU, ANULI OKONKWO and AYO PORTE.
The exceptional play of ALLINA STARR, TYSEANNA JOHNSON, MIA LLOYD, MARIAH ADANENE, SAMANTHA DORNSBACH, CORI GARNER and TAYLOR TONEY helped DeLaSalle defeat Richfield 65-45 to win the Class 3A title.
Richfield was led by JESSICA JANUARY, BRYANN GUYTON, SIERRA FORD WASHINGTON, HANNAH WISE and LEAH BARNES.
MADISON LEE, ALEXIS LONG and OYNE OSEMENAM led Maranatha Christian to their second consecutive Class 1A state crown by defeating Mountain Iron-Buhl 49-37.
